Please don't hesitate to contact me with questions on how massage therapy can benefit you!

I’ve long had an interest in the human body. It began through the physical experience of dance. Dancing has always been an important part of my life, but it wasn't until I entered the dance program at St. Olaf College that I began to really feel and understand my body. I studied dance from the inside out. I felt my muscles, bones, organs, blood, and nervous system move. I found clarity in alignment and ease in movement through internal support. I was empowered to be healthy and free of pain and discomfort by being present with my body.

I left St. Olaf with a B.A. in Dance and began a career in dance education, performance, and arts administration. This path was fulfilling, but I longed to dive deeper into my study of the body and help others along this path as well. I found my way forward through massage therapy.

I studied massage therapy at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN. During my time at NWHSU, I interned at the school’s clinic and several area hospitals as well as NWHSU's outreach clinic. These experiences allowed me to integrate the science and artistry of massage therapy in many different settings with a very diverse range of clients. I am Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and a professional member of ABMP, Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals.

My work deepens through continuing education. I am certified in Bodywork for the Childbearing Year with Kate Jordan, expert pregnancy and postpartum bodyworker, have studied Advanced Myofascial Techniques with Til Luchau, CranioSacral Therapy with the Heartwood Institute, and Thai massage with Chris Gordon.

In addition to providing massage therapy at my office, I have also been a volunteer massage therapist at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

You can find me teaching modern dance and creative movement classes at Young Dance. When I'm not working I enjoy spending time with my husband and three young children, dancing, gardening, and camping at state and national parks.

"Denise has literally kept me working. I’m a commercial photographer and regularly travel with 100lbs of equipment. I threw out my lower back a couple of years ago and Denise not only got me up and moving again but gave me an ongoing rehab plan to prevent further injury. I see her on a regular basis for maintenance. I look forward to it - it’s the only place I actually turn off my cell phone and relax."
